This easy, beginner-friendly pattern is for a 48" x 64" quilt but it includes a formula for making it bigger, plus seven layout options. The clear and detailed cutting and sewing diagrams make the block assembly a breeze. Fabric Requirements Cover Quilt Used: • 24 Medium/Dark 10" Squares (or 96 - 5" squares) • 24 Light 10" Squares (or 96 - 5" squares) • 3 1/2 yards for backing • 1/2 yard for binding For best results have a clear contrast between the two sets of 10" squares. If not using a pre-cut layer cake for the 10" squares: Select 12 fat quarters. You can get two 10" blocks from a fat quarter. Fabric will be left over from each fat quarter. OR Select six 1/3 yard cuts of different colors. Each 1/3 yard cut will yield four 10" squares. A seventh 1/3 yard cut is recommended for design choices. AND 2 yards of Light fabric yields twenty-eight 10" squares plus four extra for design choices. Pattern assumes that the quilter has a basic piecing and quilting knowledge.
