We are going to discuss five different bindings and you are going to make samples of three kinds of bindings from the simple charity bindings through award winning bindings. We will be learning how to do bindings that are all machine stitched and from there I will show you how to make more difficult bindings and ones finished by hand. They really are easy, and I have several tips that I will be teaching you that make them easier - and yet very professional when finished.

APPLIQUE’

Fusible Machine Applique’                Kathy Reynolds

This is a technique class where you will learn how to use fusible web to make wonderful appliqué designs.
Step by step instructions from tracing to fusing and finally stitching the pieces down.
Several different stitches – blanket, satin and zigzag will be covered with demonstrations for each as well as lots of time to practice. Learn how to go around corners, follow curves and stitch down points.
Although this is mostly a technique class, a small project will be taught as well. This is a class for anyone – no previous experience required.

During the final session, we will have a “reveal party” for everyone to show off their masterpiece. It’s a wonderful class for all skill levels. Create a beautiful quilt one step at a time! CRAZY QUILTING

In this basic Crazy quilting class, you will be given the choice to construct a heart or square. Traditional piecing technique will be taught. Hand embroidery    stitches introduced are the stem stitch, lazy daisy, chain, and feather stitch. Silk ribbon stitches, lace painting, button clusters as well as silk ribbon bobbin work will enhance your individual crazy quilted project. This cool quilt is surprisingly easy if you have the right tools. You will learn how to use the Tucker Trimmer, the Corner Beam ruler, and the V block ruler, all from Studio 180. You probably have a couple of these in your stash somewhere. Choose 12 different fabrics and a background fabric (or one fabric and a background for a different look) and you get a scrappy quilt that looks pretty modern. We will break the class into 3 sessions; so, you aren’t overwhelmed with information in one day. If you are a Studio 180 fan this is a good project for you.
