Fusible Machine Applique’                   Kathy Reynolds

This is a technique class where you will learn how to use fusible web to make wonderful appliqué designs.
Step by step instructions from tracing to fusing and finally stitching the pieces down.
Several different stitches – blanket, satin and zigzag will be covered with demonstrations for each as well as lots of time to practice. Learn how to go around corners, follow curves and stitch down points.
Although this is mostly a technique class, a small project will be taught as well. This is a class for anyone – no previous experience required.

Look no further, in this class you will explore two advanced quilting patterns, Headbands by Diane Gaudinsky and McTavishing after quilter Karen McTavish. These are free-motion background fill quilting techniques that feature free-flowing lines and shapes. It adds motion, texture, and puff to quilts.

Basic Collage

This class will include a look at what is possible, a discussion on Color Theory which plays a significant role in Collage Quilting, fabric choices and creating a collage using the Emily Taylor Paper Pressing Technique.
You will choose one of the four bird designs from the book (required) Take Flight; either the Duck, Raven, Bluebird, or Quail to make your collage.

Book Nerd is a fun foundation paper-pieced quilt that appeals to the bibliophile. Quilters are readers, too, right? Using both foundation paper-piecing techniques for the books and traditional piecing techniques for the quilt construction, you can use this pattern to make a large quilt, a wall-hanging, and/or a table runner or topper for your favorite reader. No previous foundation paper-piecing experience is required for this class, so it is great for beginner FPP-ers.

This is a 12-week class creating a beautiful Debbie Caffrey Mystery Quilt. Class will meet every other week for 6 sessions. For each of the first 5 sessions, you will receive 2-3 step, along with a demonstration of the instructions, to be completed over the following 2 weeks. During the final session, we will have a “reveal party” for everyone to show off their masterpiece. It’s a wonderful class for all skill levels. Create a beautiful quilt one step at a time! “In this class you will learn the techniques of working with satin ribbons, which is very different from working with threads. The learning process is made easier by using a ribbon embroidery (RE) kit which contains the multicolor satin ribbons of different widths, a special needle and a canvas with the floral pattern. You will learn the sequence and procedures of making stem stitches, leaf stitch and French knot well enough to complete the project on your own after the class. Works great with fabric stash or purchased Jelly Roll® or Bali Pop®.  Two sizes featured, 46” x 66” and 66” x 66”.  The number of 2 ½” strips used determines the size of the quilt.  30 stripes equals 46 x 66, 45 stripes equals 66x66, 60 stripes equals 66x86, and 75 stripes equals 86x86.  Easily created, with a dramatic layout, it’s a versatile size, and could easily be made into a queen-sized quilt with additional strips. An eight-inch template, circle cutter, or dinner plate is necessary for this project.  Very simple applique using your basic zig zag stitch or irregular zig zag stitch.  No curved piecing, easy applique, few scraps left over.  Scrappy or planned this easy and fun quilt.

This very difficult-looking quilt is made with a basic block—the half-square triangle. The modern look is achieved by turning your blocks several different ways. You will learn to make 8 at once and practice using your Tucker Trimmer. You will make several blocks and learn to look at the pattern to lay out your blocks. You will have a good start so you can finish this easy quilt at home. This is a good stash quilt which could be made with the 15 colored fabrics in the pattern or just one colored fabric. It could be fun with a wild, multi-colored fabric.
